Sara Z. Phelps (she/her) is a queer writer from Southern California. A former Buddhist nun, her work explores gender, sexuality, addiction, desire, devotion, power, and control. Sara graduated summa cum laude from UC Davis, where she received the Leon H. Mayhew Award for outstanding achievement in the humanities and service to the university. An alum of the Tin House Summer Workshop, Sara’s work has been supported by the Vermont Studio Center and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
